Your child will be exposed to a variety of new foods while keeping the same fun and familiar recipes they love. Cooking and baking plant-based will allow your child more independence in the kitchen as you won’t need to worry about cross-contamination or handling raw meats.

Allergy Friendly: All of our recipes are egg and dairy free and can easily be adapted to eliminate other allergens such as nuts and wheat.

From Scratch

Getting back to basics is empowering.

Now more than ever, there is a need to get back to our roots. We teach children how to create foods from scratch in their own kitchen. Becoming independent in the kitchen is the goal but having the knowledge to create their own staples for a much lower cost and not having to rely on going to the store is next level.

Hello. I’m Holly!

I’m the Hamilton based founder of Nourish Cooking Co. My journey with Plant Based eating started way back in 2004.  I attended a retreat with some friends and missed the memo that all of the food provided would be Plant Based.  I was a meat and potato girl growing up and although I didn’t love it, it was the only way I knew how to cook.

When the first meal was placed in front of me, I was blown away by the colours.  With one bite, I was hooked!  Something that tasted so fresh and delicious was also so good for me! At that point I started to add more Plant Based meals into our diet.  

Being a Montessori teacher for many years (and having three children of my own), I decided to start an after-school program to teach children the basics of cooking and baking in April of 2018.  We continued these classes for years…until the pandemic hit.  We took a pause as we weren't able to meet in person and eventually moved our classes online.  Although both in-person and online have their benefits, there is something to be said for the children cooking in their own kitchens, getting to know their own tools, and also being able to share what they made with their loved ones.

At Nourish Cooking Co, we aim to help cultivate independent and self-reliant children in the kitchen. There is a level of freedom that comes when you know how to sustain yourself through cooking, growing your own foods and making food from scratch. We are here to help with that!
